Weather like today makes me think of the importance of wedding insurance. As a wedding photographer in Charlotte I have to travel all over the state and beyond NC to provide my clients with North Carolina wedding photography. I have a bridal portrait schedule today and all you would guess with ice and snow on the ground it is not safe to drive or worth the risk. That leads me to this question what if it was a wedding today what would I do. As a vendor that has to travel i am not required contractually if there are bad weather conditions or acts of god. Many wedding photographers and other wedding vendors abide by the same contractual terms. If you are planning a winter wedding a thing you should consider is what to do in the event of bad weather. Some wedding vendors do not offer refunds and may require you adjust your time and or date. Weddings don’t always offer the flexibility to change dates and times but it is the bride and grooms responsibility to make adjustments or have a backup plan. When all else fails it is a good idea to have wedding insurance because days like today can lead to the money spent on your wedding as a waste.
