Wrightsville Beach is one of my favorite beaches in North Carolina for wedding photography. I thought about today’s feature photo because a good friend is visiting Wrightsville Beach for the weekend. I took this particular engagement photo while away for an out of town wedding in Wrightsville Beach at the Shell Island Resort. One of the things that stood out was how clear the water was which was amazing to me because I did not know NC beaches can have water so clear. In addition to the beauty of the water I could not help but notice how there where millions of shells everywhere. This is probably why they named this North Carolina wedding venue Shell Island Resort. The day before the wedding one of my couples that lived in the Raleigh area mentioned to me they love Wrightsville Beach and when I told them I was going there for a wedding the idea came up to offer them an destination engagement session since I was already going to be there. It all worked out for the best and we were able to utilize the shells and beauty of the water for some of the best engagement photos in Wrightsville Beach ever taken.
